SportsLink Magazine
SportsLink, established in 1985, is Australia’s only business magazine for the sports and sporting goods industry.
We’re focussed on all aspects and all levels of this major retail segment ... the product, the business and the opportunities they create.
Credible, independent editorial addresses topics of interest, backgrounding — and sometimes breaking — the industry’s news. Large corporations, small and medium-sized firms, suppliers, retailers and large users consistently find value in SportsLink and its annual directory.
Managing editor Maggie Coleman has many years media and sporting goods industry experience and writes authoritatively on the subjects which concern readers, leading a small and experienced team with a commitment to quality.
Mixed menu
Our priority commitment to our advertisers is to deliver the interest of readers, creating a lively and receptive environment for their marketing messages.
Unlike some ‘trade magazines’, SportsLink isn’t full of ‘puff’ ... advertising masquerading as editorial. We write about industry players and products fairly and regardless of whether they are advertisers or not.
Responding to requests and industry interest, SportsLink coverage was extended in 2006 with the introduction of the dedicated SportsLinkOutdoor section. This move is supported by a substantial increase in distribution, adding value for both outdoor and sporting goods advertisers.
No masquerade
SportsLink’s popular Showcase feature provides an editorial-style format in which advertisers can communicate a tailored message to our readers. We recognise that while companies may have developed consumer advertising campaigns, they frequently have nothing pitched directly at their partners in the trade.
Showcase addresses that need by helping businesses shape their messages, helping them explain marketing aims and making them look their best in the national trade marketplace. Showcase combines advertising with a professional editorial presentation. Showcase provides branded communication in an accessible editorial-style format ... and at low cost.
Packaged presentation on the new mysportslink website is included.
Design and layout is provided and we can help prepare text, thus avoiding third party agency or studio costs. And economical ‘run-on’ copies of your page are available to support the message.
Where and when
While SportsLink is predominantly a magazine for the Australian market, it provides a service to readers in New Zealand and takes its place in the broader regional marketplace.
Our circulation of 4800 individually-mailed copies covers all major segments of the sporting goods industry from aquatic to teamsports, and now includes a strong outdoor component.
We reach retailers, wholesalers, agents and buying groups, associations, school and club buyers, marketing and sponsorship companies.
SportsLink is published four times a year including the SportsLink Directory edition in January. Other issues appear in April, July and October.
Adding value
Beyond our stated commitment, the editorial format adds value to our advertiser clients’ message in a variety of ways.
Various editorial departments and sections reflect the many facets of the industry and bring the latest information, provide a context for advertisers’ messages and enhance readers’ understanding of their value.
SportsLink news sections and regular features background industry companies and people. Those that make news can be sure of a good showing.
